Rockins Cosmetics

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] If you don’t know the brand, Rockins, it specialises in silk skinny scarves and ‘rock’ accessories (think customised biker jackets). It was founded by musician Tim Rockins and his partner Jess Morris and they are worn by so many celebrities. If you’ve ever seen a celeb in a skinny scarf or bandana, chances are it’s Rockins. Think Rod Stewart, Kate Moss, Jane Birkin, Ronnie Wood – anyone with a little bit of rock chic about them. Ideally, you need to channel your inner Chrissie Hynde, Suzie Quatro or Stevie Nicks for their new make up collection – but a little bit of Chrissie attitude never goes amiss.

I mean, you don’t get more rock n roll than these, do you! These are the Shadow Moments (£12) – creme shadows that you can build or just wear as a wash in shades Myrtle, Baby Blue, Turquoise & Steel. In use, they feel soft and silky although I was afraid the last would be poor because there is a kind of shine feel to them. However, that’s not the case although if you have very oily lids I’d advise a primer as I would with any cremes. I think if you were going the full Chrissie, you’d add some graphic liner or kohl.

Funnily enough, these retro shades are very current for the mermaid trend.

My favourite things so far are (predictably) these chunky eye pencils, the Glitter Gel Pens (£25 for all three). Anyone who has ever struggled to find the navy eyeshadow of dreams, head this way. The shades are Viridian Green, Midnight Blue or Beatnik Black and they’re highly saturated. I’ll be completely honest, I haven’t worn for any length of time (yet!) because really, they’re so pigmented that I need a staying at home day – they’re not for Tesco or the Post Office. What they are for is making dark lids with loads of impact – add plenty of mascara, some seventies paisley, a skinny scarf and off you go :-).

There is shimmer in it as you can see but I think if you’re all in, you might as well be glittering and all in.

I’ve bundled together The Big Fat Liner (felt tip) £18, All Night Bender Mascara £20 (lovely curved brush and plenty of ultra blackness delivery – it contains fibres so probably not for you if you have contacts) and the Lock Down Liner (£15) in a soft, gel formula for wings that stretch for days. I think the Rockins Cosmetics range is a make up artist dream to get creative a la Ziggy Stardust but what I like about them is they’re so versatile as well. Weirdly, I’d been thinking about getting a velvet jacket to wear with jeans and these make up pieces have made me go on the hunt again although if you bought into the boho dress trend you are all set and ready. You can find the whole collection at Liberty HERE, non-affiliate HERE.
