[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Paul & Joe spring is themed around an afternoon picnic (when I think about it, I’ve never had a morning picnic) which is probably rather apt given that socialising again may well start outside. As usual they’ve brought their A game to fresh and cheerful beauty products and if you like charms, flowers or cats it’s a win.
Most of the colours are shimmery which seems appropriate for spring light – this brand does a good divide between metallic and shimmer so that they lightly sparkle rather than give an intense effect.
Because Paul & Joe is also a fashion brand, there is usually a echo across the genres – while I’m game on for these pretty little boxes of beauty, I’m not so sure about a flowery suit – actually shuddering at the thought!
This collection seems to hit the right mood for now – there’s a turning point where suddenly dark and cosy isn’t quite so seductive and we start to crave boosts that are light and bright .
It feels like quite a long time since green eyeshadow had any attention – I’m not sure it’s for me but it’s certainly fresh and the combination of sage, pale pink and pastel lime is beautiful. It’s called Field of Clovers. The second trio is called Marmalade and Sunshine and has gold, orange and yellow – all shot through with golden shimmers.
Possibly the most universally wearable is Afternoon Picnic with bars of soft brown, gentle pink and a more vibrant pink. They’re all shot through with silver shimmer.
In the swatch above, its Marmalade & Sunshine, Afternoon Picnic and Fields of Clover. They’re £19 each which seems really reasonable to me given the packaging. Beauty Bay has two of them (not Fields of Clover yet but it must be on its way any day) HERE, non-affiliate HERE.
