Paul & Joe April In Paris Spring 2018

Paul & Joe April In Paris Spring 2018

There are some collections that land on my desk for which I literally drop everything. Exhibit A above is one. It’s the Paul & Joe April In Paris Spring 2018 make up collection and oh. my. It just gets better and better, creatively. There are no swatches yet because I feel I need to look and enjoy a little longer before everything gets messed up.

You’re seeing correctly. These ARE mini records in decorative sleeves and YES, the discs are face colours! Paul & Joe has a history of imprinting makeup in thin sheets to use in creative ways but I don’t think I ever imagined they’d do something this good with them!

As you can see, once you’ve opened the plastic sheet on the top, there’s a whole lot of colour underneath. It’s hard to anticipate how long this will last but a fair few swishes with a blush brush I should imagine. The sheet sticks back down again very easily after use by the way.

Each pack (there are 2) contains three face colours – to me they’re mostly blush shades apart from a soft, sage green but remember that a pink shadow is more popular in Japan than it is here. If you haven’t tried it, do – it’s such a lovely, eye opening, vibrant way to wear shadow. The whole point about ‘face colours’ though is that you can use them as either/or.

This kind of whimsical play on make up is right up my street as a collector. The sets of 3 are £16 each and launch in March at Beauty Bay and Feel Unique.

Each season, Paul & Joe brings out some limited edition cases – these are the spring 2018 offerings and as usual, if you love cats, they’re yours!

As you can see, the Paul & Joe eye trios just slot right in (these aren’t new shades, they’re just for example) as will powder blush, creamy blush or the eyebrow powder duo refills. It just means you can switch up your cases (£7 each) whenever you feel like it with no need to invest in new shadows or whatever.

As well as the new lipstick cases (£7), there are three new lipsticks in a sheer formula (I have two, above). One of the great things about Paul & Joe lipsticks is that the formula contains hyaluronic acid which means they’re not drying. Above is Rue Cremieux (pink) and Rue Montorgueil and they’re £14 each. These also launch in March at Beauty Bay and Feel Unique. I *think* Feel Unique is a new stockist for this brand and it’s about time too – ASOS never really did anything with it and Feel Unique probably will showcase it better.

I’ll try to remember to flag up when they actually become available to buy but for now, it’s just a sneaky peek of what’s to come.

Adorable! I worship cats, so these are right up my alley.

The packaging is so cute this time around. It’s too bad the face colours are so thin, but I reckon someone who collects these will probably only use them a couple of times anyway.

  3. I need all of these! I’ve always loved their packaging but this is a new level of cute.

  4. How cute is Paul & Joe please? I too think they keep getting better and prettier with every collection (more cats haha)! The face colours are quite pigmented so hopefully they will last a little while 🙂 just to let you know the collection is already available on BeautyBay (but I think the face colours are sold out…) it looks like asos is not re-stocking Paul & Joe any more – I wonder why they stopped adding new products 🙁 good news about FeelUnique though!

  5. The face disks for blush is such a great idea! Tempted to get these when they launch

  6. These are absolutely adorable. I was sold as soon as I saw the cats on it though to be honest.. but then I saw the mini records and that’s just too cute.

Love the retro record theme and bought 1 pack of these (the one without the green because green eyeshadows has no game in my book lol). However I do have to say it right away that they are storage nightmare – those sleeves even though sticks back in perfectly but does not withstand humidity at all so I can easily imagine them turning bad in humid Asian weather…
