Origins Blooming Shine Nourishing Lip Gloss

[unpaid/affiliate/sample/ad] If you haven’t worn gloss for years because your hair gets caught in it if the wind blows, it’s stickier than sellotape and it slides off, time for a re-think. New formula glosses are such a long way from the glorious gloop of the Bonne Belle years and these newbies from Origins are best in class in being softening, no-tackiness, light-bringers.

Origins Blooming Shine Gloss

Now, as is the way at the moment, stock has yet to make it to the website but I thought I’d flag anyway in case anyone feels like a mid-month treat because I’m sure they’ll be live in the next week or two. (NB: Just found them on Look Fantastic HERE) What’s lovely about them is that they’re quite low pigment but very lightful so you get a hint of colour but a lot of shine which makes lips look smooth and dewy. I quite often find that older women aren’t so keen to try a gloss – I once gave a Bobbi Brown gloss to my friend’s mum and it was a revelation and is now her ‘signature’ look. I think it was a shade called Ballet Pink which doesn’t exist now, but Petal (HERE) is along the right lines if you want a starter gloss. In the Origins range, Bare Petal will have you in the right direction.

There’s a tiny bit of sparkle in some of the shades (there are 10) and the red shade, as you can see, is more pigmented than the other shades that I have here but go lightly and it’s a super-charged wash. So, from bottom to top: Daring Dahlia, Honey Bloom and Scarlet Rose. They’re £18 each and you can sign up for notifications for when stock arrives HERE. Oh, I forgot to mention that the formula contains 12 flower extracts although I’m not sure what benefit that might bring, as well as essential oils (in case you’re averse) and has a little bit of a minty kick. While I was browsing the Origins website, I came across a new Lauder box – Fresh Beginnings – with £79 of product for £28. See below:

While I feel that these have got rather ‘samey’, there are some favourites in there that I’d be really happy to have such as Origins Mega Mushroom Relief & Resilience Treatment Lotion and Clinique Moisture Surge. There’s also a MAC eye shadow in there too which seems a bit different. Full contents are: Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex Synchronized Recovery, 3ml, AERIN Amber Musk Eau de Parfum, 4ml, Clinique Moisture Surge™ Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate, 15ml, Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Treatment Lotion, 30ml, M·A·C Eye Shadow, Omega, 1.5g, Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color, Neutral Rose, 2.25g, Aveda Thickening Tonic, 10ml, Smashbox Travel-Size Photo Finish Radiance Primer, 12ml. Find it HERE, non affiliate HERE.

Thank you for this post Jane. I rate the Origins lipsticks very highly, not too many colours (after about 25 shades in a lip / eyeshadow range I start to get ahem get lost / bored) and pampering formula with the same flower extracts.
I will buy the box and am looking forward to trying out the Mega Mushroom Lotion, will share the rest out with some friends. The glosses will go onto next week’s treat list for sure. Scarlet Rose looks like the perfect sunnies + bright summer lip shade.
I hope you and BBB family and readers are all keeping well. xx
