I’m so impressed with the new NYX Ultimate Shadow Palettes – NYX isn’t a brand I know terribly well so these have come as a very good surprise. In the picture above, it’s the Brights Palette – each palette has 16 shades and they’re a mix of mattes and sheens. In this palette, there are specks of glitter in a couple of the colours (the acid green and one of the aqua shades). Texture wise, these are beauties to blend with – they did really well in the swatching (although I ran out of arm!) with a sponge applicator and then just as well with a blending brush.
I know.. yes I’m ashamed.. jumper marks! Really, this is the ultimate fantasy palette for trying all those colours you’ve wondered about but never quite committed to. At £16 each, it’s a fairly affordable way to appease your inner unicorn.
The second palette I’m showing today (I’ll swatch up the other two tomorrow) is the warm neturals palette. Again, there is just nothing to complain about in terms of pay off, texture and performance.
As you can see, it’s a mix of mattes and sheens with the golds giving off plenty of light and gleam. I like that they’ve done a warm neutral and a cool neutral because they really have got that tone difference right. The NYX Ultimate Shadow Palettes are a big recommend from me and proof that luxury brands need to watch out – the budgets are coming to get you! They’re HERE.
