[productsample/affiliatelink] I get to see a lot of ‘new and improved’ products and often struggle to tell the difference but in this instance, the new Lancome Hypnose Eyeshadow Palettes ARE better than before. I think the formula has improved greatly – it’s softer and more premium certainly, with better pay-off and a creamier texture.
There are ten different colour-ways with each featuring a selection of matte, satin and shimmer. It feels that all tones have been taken into consideration with the new shadows … there’s one, Kaki Electrique, that has the most vibrant green surrounded by khaki and neutral tones and that is one smoky eye I’d like to see! I don’t have it here but I do have three of the others.
This one is Rose Fusion – I love a pink eye shadow and this one has mauve undertones that are stunning with gold.
Brun Adore is probably my natural choice – I’d easily wear all of these shades and not even have to wonder what to do with them. I like a dark grey, too, and it’s not a shade that pops up regularly.
That luminous copper! How gorgeous. Terre de Sienne is a take on the sunset palette trend with a good variety of depth and light.
I’m really leaning towards the ‘old’ style five pan palettes – I look at the multi-pan palettes with a feeling of being overwhelmed. Obviously, if you still look at 20 different shades in one palette with glee and excitement, five colours aren’t going to do it for you, but these feel absolutely effortless, beautiful colour edits that I feel very happy to have. They’re £42 each which is toppy in my view, but the quality is so improved that if it fits your budget, I really would! John Lewis has 15% off (£37.50) if you want to opt for one of the more neutral shade selections HERE, but otherwise, Lancome HERE is currently the only on-line stockist of the more dramatic colour-ways.
