Covent Garden is turning out to be the beauty destination – the newest store to open is NARS in King Street, and super swishy it is too. Obviously, the store has all the NARS stock, but more interestingly, it’s also got the NARS 413 BLKR collection (named after the first NYC NARS store) which previously has been hard to get hold of. You can get all of it on-line which isn’t quite the same as being able to see it and swatch it.

I’m kind of hoping that the brand might do something properly exclusive to the Covent Garden store – NARS CVTGDN – eek, that doesn’t sound great! Maybe not then!

So, a quick round up of the BLKR products. First up, the Blush Duo (£30) with a shimmer pale sand shade for highlighting and a blossom pink with a splash of gold. I found this did kick up a bit of ‘dust’ but the pink especially is pretty and that kind of fresh ‘pop’ for the cheeks. The Illuminator (£22.50) is a fluid Champagne shade (totally hot colour at the moment) that’s sheer and blendable, while the Lip Pencil (£19) is a matte velvet formula is a hot pink shade. Bearing in mind that autumn is all about the deepest wine shades for lips, the Lipstick (£21), in a semi-matte formula looks like a top buy if you like harder to find products. There are nine NARS 413 BLKR products in total.. some limited edition. The collection is HERE if you want to have a look.

Stand alone stores are such a beauty trend right now – it will be interesting to see how this plays out for brands: Covent Garden rents are sky high so stores really have to pay their way and with on-line being such an easy way to buy, and not geography dependant either, I think it’s one big experiment that we’re seeing.
