I think it must be brush season – I’m seeing some beautiful brushes around at the moment with the new Nanshy Necessities set, above, a good case in point. Nanshy makes awesome brushes – I’ve never know them not to be amazing quality and yes, they’re cruelty free. These are made from Taklon with beech wood handles that are flattened on one side which makes for a comfortable grip.
It’s funny what you end up having to research writing about beauty – I’ve been looking at Taklon and discovered that natural hair (as well as not being vegan) isn’t as hygienic as synthetic hair when it comes to make up brushes because its constitution is such that it traps powders and waxes in a way that synthetic doesn’t. I also discovered that the metal bit that fixes the brush to the handle is called a ferrule!
I think you can see how plush they are. In this particular set, which is £69.99 (I thought it was going to be a lot more to be honest), you get a spoolie, brow, crease shadow, shader shadow, setting shadow, contouring, foundation, bronzer (or blush) and powder brushes. You can find the set, which comes with a faux leather bag to keep them in, HERE.
