Models Own Liquid Metal Eye Shadow

Models Own Liquid Metal Eye

Models Own makes some really fun products, often very decent quality and always bang on a trend. However, these are not great. It’s just a lazy formulation to be honest and I think you’d be disappointed with the performance. I’ll explain why. The formula is such that it’s just a bit too thick to be shaken up, but it’s slightly split inside the tube. This means that you get both too wet and too dry on your lids at once.

You can certainly see in the second swatch along that there are two things happening! I also found that once the wet dries off, the eye shadow is very dry and it kind of crumbles off so if you rub your eye, it’s game over! The formula forms a kind of a seal over the lids that’s not terribly crease friendly but if you have completely smooth lids, don’t have hayfever and don’t mind waiting nearly forever for the shadows to dry, you’ll be fine! They work a lot better if you use them lightly with a brush and ignore the doe’s foot applicator – if you blend quickly, you get less of a seal and more of shimmer diffusion and under those circumstances, they are better but it’s something that’s hard to get right first time. They definitely need time and effort and there are plenty of shimmery shadows that don’t need nearly that same level of attention. So, at £7.99, it’s a pass but they’re HERE if you fancy them. Oh, shades in the swatch from bottom to top are: Rose Gold, Copper, Gold, Copper (again!) and Peacock.
