Mini Make-Up – How To Fit ALL Your Make-up Into A Credit Card Holder (almost)

[unpaid/samples/affiliate/ad] Finally, finally, it looks like we are actually going to get a quick break (so no Friday posts) – after three attempts and one early return from Paris. It’s not my body that needs a break, it’s my head and I can’t wait to be somewhere else. So, fiddling about with how compact I can get my travel make-up is a nice lead-up.

So, all of this….

Fits into this…

A Starbucks gift card (purchased) for size reference. I do hoard sample sizes or mini make-up items – I have a little bag that I keep them in so I can dip in as and when and they mainly come from advent calendars or the SpaceNK (or similar) bundle bags that come up as gifts with purchase a couple of times a year.

The holder, by the way, is from Tiger Stores – I keep my bank card in it so it’s easy to wipe down and you can tap through. In this little bag of tricks – that literally does fit in the palm of my hand, I have a sample size Benetint for cheeks and lips, Elf’s Wow Brow, £4.50 (HERE), Laura Mercier mini Caviar Stick for eyes (these usually come up as sets for Christmas so keep an eye out), MAC Mini Lipstick in Russian Red, £12 HERE (loads of colours – I’m not taking this one, it’s more for illustration but there are glosses too and if I had one, I’d take that!), Mini Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara (I notice this is one of the free samples you get with purchase) and Charlotte Tilbury Rock & Kohl (from a Christmas set). So, that’s eyes, lips and cheeks done. I’m thinking I might get one of those little retro beaded purses to fit them in because I need my card holder back!

Trish McEvoy used to do some fabulous credit card sized palettes, they were called Beauty Emergency Cards. They had eyeshadow, blush, bronzer, lipstick and even concealer. It seems like she no longer does them, I wonder if it’s because the last few years big palettes seem to have been a trend ? Perhaps we will start to see a return to more well edited basics, I think your selection is very disciplined!

      Yes, I remember those!

Lovely post Jane. Space saver for a day or night out (remember those) is to grab your eye or lip pencil with a sponge or brush end and load the end up with the eye or lip colour you’d like to top up. Simples! Enjoy your break xx

I am a bit obsessed with minis…! I usually take a mini Benetint and Erborian BB (I love that they make 45ml and 15ml tubes and often have free gift offers for even tinier tubes) and Benefit mini mascaras although I have the tiniest Chanel mascara sample at the moment which is basically just the size of the brush!

I’m jealous of your Chanel sample mascara!
