[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I love a coloured mascara but some are much easier to wear than others. Maybelline’s coloured mascaras (ten shades to date) are good options to experiment with, especially if you veer away from bright blue and head to the shades that are enhancers rather than statement. Their newest launch is Green Altitude – a subtle, deep green that’s not forest and neither is it sage, but somewhere in between.
If you want to amp up the green, you can use Hunter Green (Superdrug) Tattoo Liner, above. Green Altitude is designed to amplify green or brown eyes. I find that most coloured mascaras for day to day need some black behind them to stop eyes looking ‘stark’ and in the past, I’ve done a light coat of black then a coat of colour to get the definition my eyes need not to look bare.
As you can see, Green Altitude has a good depth. We are talking subtle differences here – I don’t think that anyone is going to notice that my lashes look green but there is definitely a nuance to my eye look that doesn’t happen with black mascara. I really do like it but I’d have to be in a very particular mood to pay this level of attention to detail.
It’s £10.99 HERE and worth it I think for the fun of trying something new, but not too daring! It’s full on spring, after all – the best time for newness.
