You have to think peaches and blossoms for this collection that launches on the 18th and comprises a X9 palette, five lipsticks and a powder blush. I’ve got a couple of the lipsticks – Good Health and Prosperity (at the front in the picture). Good Health is satin and Prosperity is matte.
The lippies are lovely but it’s the palette, Luck And Fortune, that’s really caught my eye.
While Luck & Fortune is all peachy and blossomy, it’s also a very clever play on the sunset trend, taking out the ultra shine and replacing the glare with matte. I love the x9 palettes – they’re understated in size so tackle the makeup storage issue that a lot of us have and they seem less ostentatious than the bigger palettes I’ve seen of late.
Aside from the first two shades which are sheeny, all the colours are matte – its a warm and flattering boost up from traditional neutrals and a downplay on sunsets, so I think it’s all good!
While the exterior of the blush palette is the most striking because it displays the ombre best but it’s not the most exciting on the inside – I would have loved to see some blossom embossing on this just to give it some personality.
It’s very wearable though as you can see in the swatch above. The lipstick swatches are Good Health and Prosperity. Launching January 18th at MAC online, Brown Thomas and Selfridges.
