[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Like a lot of brands, MAC has gone early on their festive fare so it’s inevitable that Christmas will be happening across social media from now until, well, the 25th December! This year is unlike any other and nobody knows quite how it will play out so I am just going with the flow, content wise, and actually, in life too.
I have a very small selection of products but enough to give you a general over-view and set the theme. I mean, it’s really pretty – although this collection will have been in progress since last year, it seems about right for now in that the packaging is gently festive with an iced finish and good selection of gentle and bright shades. Shown here is Break The Ice Lip Glass (£16.50) which is a neutral/peach shade shot with twinkling pink and gold shimmer. The lipstick is Heart Goes Boom (£17.50) which is a matte fuchsia (and although I am sure they weren’t sent together to be together, looks gorgeous with Break The Ice over the top).
The Extra Dimension Foil Eye Shadows (£17.50) are just lovely – a punchy metallic finish that allows you to go light or dark and still get an effective lid look. This shade is Firewerk The Room (is there an OPI interloper at the naming station?!) in a copperish red shade – my favourite of the five.
In the swatch, it’s Break The Ice, Heart Goes Boom, Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Short Fuse and Be Cool (shimmer hit purple and white- currently not in stock) and Firewerk The Room. I think it’s less about the individual items and more about the sets for MAC Holiday. There are some absolute beauties from Flashing Ice Skin Finish Trio (£30) and the sparkly Charm Mini Lipglass Kits (£25) to the stand out advent calendar which is already on eBay for £200 and yet, in stock (as I write) HERE at MAC for £125 (value £300). It’s amazing value, really pretty and different this year and would be my top buy – if only to break up and separate out to make your own Christmas sets. I know, sacrilege but also, thrifty!
