I know.. it’s so soon, but I’m honestly starting to get a back-log of Christmas products so if I don’t make a start, things will just start to pile up. You know, this is a strange collection of festive things: on some, the packaging is gorgeous – truly lovely (especially the advent – very premium), and other things look a bit, well, cheap. I’ll start with the above palette, with its textured velvet (ish) casing, the Shiny Pretty Things Eye Party, £29.
It’s really, truly lovely! I think it’s well priced, too, at £29. There’s a blue version as well with two peacock blue shades being the stand-outs as are the two pinks in this. Shades are Little Drummer BAE (Satin), Pear Crisp (Turbochrome Frost), Tea Dust (matte), Lark Angel (frost), Redwood (VLXP), Holly Folly (frost), Winter Rose (lustre), Sunday Plum (frost) and Cordial (matte).
Next up is the Shiny Pretty Things Glow Getter set in Gold (there is also a pink). Despite this being the gift that probably suits absolutely everyone, it’s got the worst packaging. The box is so flimsy. I love the contents though – that Skin Finisher shaped to a bow is so pretty (and so Instagram-able) and I’m a huge fan of Strobe Cream as a subtle glow maker that skin of any age looks luminous with.
There’s also a brush for the Skin Finisher and it’s curved to hug cheeks and contours. It’s £39.
Out of context, this Pigment set doesn’t look great either, but a lot of the MAC sets are in this candy-esq wrap in all sorts of different brights and they do look very cool all together. So, you’ll be able to find gloss sets, lipstick sets and the pigment sets at around the £25 mark. This is the Shiny Pretty Things Party Favours Mini Glitter & Pigments Kit in Pink (there’s also a gold).
I can’t name the pigments because there is a discrepancy between the packaging and the release (this sometimes happens with samples so it’s not an unusual thing) so I don’t want to send you in the wrong direction.
It’s just a small selection I have here but you’ll definitely want to check out the metallic ‘Goody Bags’ – one for nude lips and one for red lips, and the Shiny Pretty Things Lip Kit with ten mini MAC lipsticks inside a pink velvet box – gorgeous! Personally, I think the eye palettes are the best value. You can find everything HERE if you want to make a head start on gift shopping.
