MAC Bling Things

MAC Bling Things

This is definitely not my favourite MAC collection but only because I think the brand has now rinsed disco to the point that it’s begging for mercy. That’s just personal preference, but if you love to go bold and bling, then it’s going to be right up your street. There are seven Liquid Lipcolours and three Dazzle Highlighters.

The Bling Thing collection is delivering on its name, that’s for sure – MAC has been delivering an ultra-level of highlight for years and that doesn’t change. Above is Dazzlegold, a yellow toned gold. The light bounce off this is incredible.

This one is Dazzlepink in a pink/rose gold – there’s a third shade in Dazzlered which I think sounds gorgeous but I don’t have to hand. You do get all of the sparkle and all of the lighting with these – they’re not for the shy!

I’ve got mixed feelings about the Liquid Lipcolours – in the swatch, as you’ll see, they were a bit watery and they don’t seem particularly glossy because the metallic element kills the sheen. However, in terms of metallic pigment saturation, hard to beat.

Commotion Motion, the very vivid pink, went on fine, but Frickin Brilliant (urgh), is streaky and watery. Maybe it needs a good shake – formulators will probably say that metallic pigments can separate a bit and that’s its normal. Anyway, these are certainly not for me but I can see that Instagram will absolutely love them! They’re £18 each HERE and the Highlighters are £25.50.

I’ve got a couple of the liquid lipsticks and they’re really lovely on. The pigment is even, they’re very sparkly and they last well (as in, almost can’t get them off!). I think they’re a bit of fun this time of year but I probably won’t reach for them come January!
