MAC Black Cherry Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Ooh, so pretty! The MAC Black Cherry collection is the brand in top form with a design and selection that will appeal to everyone. I mean, who doesn’t love cherry blossom. I should point out that the blossom I’m using is quince because it was to lovely not to.

It seems that everything is on ‘early access’ which is something you sign up for, but I’m sure the collection will turn up eventually to anyone who doesn’t want more marketing emails in their inbox. I’m also thinking there is huge missed opportunity to rake out the Clinique Black Honey mascara formula and pop that in a blossom tube.

The thing I’ve fallen for is the Glow Play Lip Balm in Pinking Of You. It’s one of four sakura inspired shades and it’s just the most delicious milky pink, glossy wash of colour that looks juicy and chic. I’d like all four because I know I’d wear them to the very end – everything is right about them from colours to consistency. And they’re £15 each which seems reasonable to me.

The lipstick I have here is Dramarama, a very bright matte pink (both shown on me at the end of the post). It’s £17.50 – when you’re allowed to buy it ;-).

The other item of note is the Extra Dimension Blush – I have Room To Bloom which is a mid pink with a little bit of golden peach behind it. It’s £24.

In the swatch, it’s Pinking Of You in Glow Play Balm (the Glow Play Collection is HERE and I’d highly recommend for anyone looking for low key lips with a glossy and hydrating finish – take a look at Floral Coral), Dramarama Matte Lipstick and Extra Dimension in Room To Bloom. The collection is HERE, non-affiliate HERE. If you do want to just get ahold of any of these items without waiting, sign up for early access and unsubscribe straight after.

Both lips look fab (and you’re glowing! Spring obviously becomes you!) and I’m a sucker for MAC blush (their gel-like Azalea was damn good!), but this one looks a bit too peachy for my liking (I’m more into cooler pink and darker red)… Still, great spring news!

      Thank you Anna!!

Are you sure that’s crabapple? Looks like chaenomeles (ornamental flowering quince) to me. That collection is fabulous. The balm particularly!

You’re right!! It’s quince…. I’m going to change it quickly!!! Thank you!

Dramarama looks like an amazing pink! It really looks great on you Jane. It actually brightens and warms your complexion more like a coral does. Lovely.

      It’s really a BIG colour – I wouldn’t wear it out :-)) But thank you 🙂

I am so glad you have decided to start showing the lip colours on you rather than an arm swatch, it makes such a difference seeing it on the lips, both colours look gorgeous on you but I am more tempted with the light pink one.

Thank you Andrea! I love the light pink one – will wear it without thinking whereas the other shade is definitely a big decision!

  7. Keala Jewell

I love these two shades on you. Love seeing lippies on you!
