When the Laura Mercier Illuminators launched in 2016, they were top of their game in terms of giving a light hit sheen. Now, with so many illuminators flooding the market, they look positively low key. But, to my mind, that’s a good thing – not everyone wants to go all out on the high beam but still want in on the illumination trend.
I like the way that there are four shades that are all tone friendly – a little goes a long way so you can adapt and adjust as you please. I’d probably opt for the lighter rosy gold shade in winter but could go a lot warmer in summer. The shades, going clockwise from top left are: Infatuation, Indiscretion, Devotion and Temptation.
They’re in the same order in the swatch. I find the shades quite versatile – you could easily do a golden or bronze lip with these or press any shade over a lipstick to give a bit of a metallic topper. Two of the shades are new () and it’s part of the L’Amour Exotique collection for Christmas. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Laura Mercier brand is going to get a revamp soon – it’s looked very samey for a long time now. The palette is £45 HERE.
