These lipstick formulations are exceptional – ultra high pigment, non-drying, a satin finish and creamy feel – really, nothing not to like in performance and wear.
I like the colour choices – a not-too-pale nude shade in I Cherish and a deep burgundy in You Inspire (they brought Victoria Beckham to mind for some reason) that are interchangeable in the stem.
If you’ve never used Hourglass lipstick before the thing you need to know is that they’re slim – more slender than your average lippie – so even though you’re paying a luxury price for them at £31, you’re not getting as much actual product as you’d expect. But, that said, you do feel that you have a very premium product in your hands – I don’t know of any other lipsticks that use this type of slender stem style packaging. To be honest, it looks like a fine fountain pen in your bag and coupled with the quality of the lipstick carries off its ‘luxury’ label really well.

Given that we are starting to buy less but buy better, if these two shades are right for you, I think you have day and night for winter covered in one product.
