[unpaid/sample] I’ve got a small selection of the Guerlain Fall products and they’re coming in strong wit Ombre G shadow quad, a new mascara, five eye pencils and three new jewel cases. The collection doesn’t launch until September so I’ve got plenty of time to test run the mascara (and I really do like a Guerlain mascara – hidden gems) and get the palette swatched up. But I really think the jewel cases are the most beautiful they’ve ever been so that’s today’s post. I love taking pictures of the Guerlain Jewel Cases – this time, I’m armed with my glue dots!
See what I mean?! The Violette effect is everywhere on the Butterfly Kiss Collection from the wing print on the case to the metallic element shot through the matte finish. As Creative Director of Make-Up for Guerlain, Violette has taken her inspiration from butterfly wings and the fusion of velvety-matte with glints of metallic.
Anyway, if you are weak for the Rouge G Jewel Cases you won’t be able to resist adding another – this has already slid into my keep drawer and that’s where it will stay forever. I didn’t find that the metallic element was overt – it seems rather subtle to me (which is fine) and the velvet finish is far too matte for my personal taste but gosh if you love a powdery, matte finish, it’s feather light in feel but has all the impact you could wish for.
I have shade No.721, Mythic Fuchsia, and the case is called Red Scarlet. I think you can see the powdery finish and that the metallic isn’t particularly apparent – you can build the intensity to as much of both as you like, obviously. There are two more of the Jewel Cases, both in the same wing design but in a black/blue colourway or brown/pink.
