Givenchy Essence of Shadows Autumn 2019

[productsamples/afflinks] It seems appropriate to start looking at the darker shades of autumn because August is, well, moody, to say the least. I’m looking out onto a rainy, cloudy sky and my feet are freezing!

Givenchy Essence of Shadows

Starting with these two limited edition shades of Rouge Interdit Vinyl, Shadow Pink and Shadow Purple. They’re both translucent tints of colour with a whack of water-like shine and grey tone bases to give a vampy aspect to your lips. They’ve both got a shot of twinkling shimmer to them and while you absolutely can top-coat any other colour you choose, you really don’t need to – they’re stand out on their own without relying on pigment to do the heavy work.

There are two Prismissime (£48 HERE), nine shade palettes, working along a shadow theme. Above is Essence of Greys and it’s absolutely stunning – if you’ve got grey or very dark hair, this is as near to perfect for creating the kind of sophisticated look that I am always envious of – check out 59 year old model Yasmina Rossi HERE or Carmen Dell’Orefice HERE to see what I mean! Just add leather…

Givenchy Essence of Shadows

Essence of Browns, the second palette, is such a good shade edit that veers to pinks and purple without leaving behind the softness of browny-beige.

In the swatch of the Rouge Interdit Vinyls (£26.50 HERE) you can see how the colour is literally just a wash but it’s so effective because of the complexity of the shine which is completely luminous thanks to the twinkles and pearlescence.

So here is the swatch of Essence of Greys where somewhat miraculously, every shade of grey I can think of is covered off, from the lightest silvers to brighten the lids to shimmer-shot black-grey and a fully matte black for a deep, dramatic look. I love it!

Essence of Browns is more wearable with a spectacular colour choice in matte, metallic and shimmering finishes. I can’t see how you’d get bored of this selection when there are a million ways to use it, from a simple gold lid to a heathery sheen.

I’ve got some more deep shade collections coming up later in the week – including a black blush! Non affiliate links HERE.
