GenSee Mixed Media Metallic Liquid Eyeshadow

[unpaid/sample] So far, everything I’ve seen from this beauty brand has been impressive and it’s no different with the GenSee Mixed Media Metallic Liquid Eyeshadow. There are three shades – Bronze Age, First Light and Desert Highway.

Many metallic shadows can feel a bit stingy on the lids – not so here: I was braced for it but it never happened. I used the doe’s foot applicator to apply but I think going forward I’ll just slide the product onto a brush instead. The applicator works fine but you get a bit more movement and flexibility with a brush so you can blend it really well if you want to.

I know I look a bit drunk but I was trying to show as much of my lids as possible! On the left I’m wearing Bronze Age and on the right First Light. It’s not a precision application but just an idea of how the colours work out on the skin.

You can tell this was a Monday, can’t you! The thing about swatching is you can’t suddenly reach for something when you have wet make up on your arm. The shadows dry off really quickly without doing that scrunchy skin thing – my lids stayed looking smooth and I found the last to be really good. If anything, too good because you need an oil-based cleanser to take these off properly. I don’t have especially oily lids so can’t speak to the last if you have, but on me, it was plenty. I like the shades for being understated but still wow. The brand is using earthy tones to create the impact rather than bright colours and the effect is all the better for it. They’re £19 each which I feel is fair for what seems to be a more gentle formula than most of this type. You can find them HERE. Annoyingly, postage is free over £20 and these seem priced to miss that by a whisker.
