Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick

Fenty Beauty is putting in another solid performance with the new Plush Matte lipsticks. ‘Plush’ I assume refers to the silky, smooth feel on the lips which is perfection in terms of application. The pigment is exceptional – one swipe and you’re done!

There’s a very decent selection of shades including some adventurous colours amongst the 14 line-up, such as blue and green which I love. I like experimental shades (remember Pat McGrath’s D&G shades for 2013 and we were all ‘huh?’) but I can’t say they much like me – I would love to venture out with green lips looking cool and edgy but the reality is that it’s more Wicked extra than wickedly good make up.

I think you can see straight away from the swatches just how intense the pigment is – this is one swipe. From bottom to top: Midnight Wasabi, Up 2 No Good, Candy Venom, Freckle Fiesta and PMS. They’re £16 each HERE. In terms of longevity, I found the last to be reasonable and they did make my lips feel dry after an hour or so. However, I always point out that my lips dry really quickly with almost any lipstick so if you are able to wear mattes comfortably, then you should be completely fine with these. I also need to point out that the tall packaging conceals the fact that the amount of lipstick you get is only the non-shiny bullet casing part – the shiny bit on the bottom that makes them look tall is entirely the wind up mechanic, so they do feel lighter than they look.

Wow! That’s serious pigment for £16! Love the look of the gingery one.
