Essence New Palettes

Essence Hello New York

There’s so much newness from this brand I don’t know where to start, so I picked out two of the newest city-themed palettes: one in the coolest tones I’ve seen in a while, Hello New York, and the other, G’Day Sydney, which is totally opposite in colour selection.

Hello New York

Strangely, this particular palette didn’t swatch as well as the warmer toned one – it’s an unusual selection of colours really that doesn’t say New York to me at all other than in a vaguely architectural way but if these are your shades, snap it up because this colourway doesn’t come round often. At £7 a palette, they’re immensely good value.

Essence

The first shade is iridescent – very pretty – but the second grey shade has barely any pigment. It takes a bit of working with as you can see.

Essence

This is the warm toned option, G’Day Sydney – there is also Ola Rio, also warm, and Salut Paris, in rose gold tones.

Essence

This one swatched like a dream – not a single shade lacked pigment, even the mattes, where if anything is going to be pigment poor, its those.

Essence

I love the hazy metallic blue in amongst the sunset shades. You’ll find them at your local Wilco store or online from around May time.

My local Wilko took out its Essence stand. GUTTED. The G’Day Sydney palette looks so good I might have to make an online order.

My local Wilko doesn’t have Essence at all! So unfair!

At last a cool palette with barely a brown in sight. Woohoooo!!

They’re in my local Primark (i.e. Penneys in Ireland)….there’s always sooo much on the stand! Browsing for ages. (Their nail polishes are very good indeed….under €2, which in sterling means they are free!)
Flipping Essence website is a waste of time usually though…..hope you guys find a third party retailer.

As ever…..J ignored these but your review is sending me back; thank you!

I can’t even imagine suiting those New York shades. Not only cool, but soooo pale. Maybe a platinum blonde or someone with silver/white hair? I’d look as if I were in fancy dress as a ropy alien.
