[sample/affiliate] Currently priced at £4.15 (yes, really) because it’s in a promotion, the Essence Crystal Power Eyeshadow Palette is a tidy buy if you want a colour refresh for the new year. I don’t often wear greens other than khaki but I love the gold hit shade in this palette.

The shades are mainly shimmers and metallics with one matte shade – a sandy brown. The pigment is good without being intense and I didn’t notice drop over and above what you’d expect from a shimmery dominant palette.

I think it’s a good mix of colours that I don’t necessarily have lots of – perhaps not the sunset shades but even they aren’t exactly what I already have. I don’t like Make It Happen – it’s too sort of gingery for me but otherwise, I’d wear most of the shades quite happily.

Shades from bottom to top are: Never Give Up, Sparkle All Day, Good Vibes Only, Love Yourself, Make It Happen, Chase Your Dreams, I’ve Got The Power and Believe In Miracles. The exterior is cardboard – annoyingly, there isn’t enough support for the mirror so it flips back when you open it. That’s not really a problem if you’re holding it while applying but if it’s on your dressing table and you’re trying to use both palette an mirror, it’s a minor irritation. Anyway, HERE it is, non aff HERE.
