I love Essence for its price points and quality – with nails especially. It’s just one of those brands that provides beauty trends at an affordable level although it’s heavily pointed towards teens which makes no sense at all. In beauty, there’s an assumption that as you get older, your wallet gets heavier and that’s really not the case for many. Aside from Makeup Revolution who have an age inclusive attitude and following, and Superdrug’s Optimum skin care range, I can’t think of many brands that don’t make the assumption that older is richer. So, I think you have to bypass the youth element with Essence to discover it.
This year is truly the biggest year for beauty advent calenders; it’s more like who doesn’t have a calender! But the Essence offering is certainly one to look out for at £24. If you do the maths on that one, it’s really such a bargain, with 24 windows.
It’s launching on-line and in store at Wilko HERE in November.
