Dolce & Gabbana Tropical Spring

Dolce & Gabbana Tropical Spring

Wow! When Dolce & Gabbana say tropical, they really mean it. The inspiration for the collection is – tropicals, obviously, but lush and vibrant colours that thrive in heat and sunshine. I’m definitely getting that vibe from it – just shove a hibiscus in my hair and I am THERE!

Starting off with the Eyeshadow Duo in Tropical Coral – I hardly know where to start with this but I know that I want to! There’s a big trend on a red-eye look; this one steers slightly orange but when all is said and done, it’s a red shadow with a pinky peach satin partner. I was going to say I think you need to be warm toned for this, but Tilda Swinton popped into my head so I’ll revise that to say it’s for anyone adventurous! The visual I have uses it as a light wash in the crease with the paler shade being dominant on the lid. Maybe that’s the thing – a little in the right place is what makes it work.

Next up is the Eyeshadow Duo in Tropical Pink. It’s definitely more purple than pink, although a baby pink with a lilac edge sits beside it. Again, I don’t know where to start with this – it’s so bold and challenging and I really need to see some looks with these colours before I’m convinced! I don’t have a price list for this collection yet but duos are usually £34.

A new blush in Tropical Coral is super pigmented and bright. It’s really similar to another D&G blush I had (and now can’t find!) and you need to literally whisper your brush over it for plenty of pigment. It just takes the tiniest amount to put a warm rouge onto your cheeks.

Tropical Pink Blush is a kind of bubblegum pink with a little more depth. If you can do pink blush, it’s an easy wear – rosy and pretty and pretty much goes with everything. D&G Blush is usually £34.

There are two new Passion Duo Lipsticks – Tropical Coral (it still looks red to me!!) and Tropical Pink. As you’ll see in the swatch, the central core is a colourless balm – it’s a lip comfort element rather than a colour addition. It’s pictured here existing shade lipstick in Tease.

In this swatch, bottom to top: Tropical Coral Blush, Tropical Pink Blush, Tropical Pink Passion Duo and Tropical Coral Passion Duo. These are so smooth and creamy on application.

Swatches here are the Eyeshadow Duo in Tropical Coral followed by the same in Tropical Pink. Ignore the final swatch (it’s Tease!).

Last up are the nails – Tropical Coral (the orange one) is new, as is Beach Sand (gold). Amethyst is existing.

In the swatch, there is Beach Sand, Amethyst and Tropical Coral.

I don’t as yet have a launch date for this, but I’ll fill in the blanks when I get all the extra information.

Oh my gosh Jane – the cools in this collection are calling my name! I’m so pleased that D&G did a cooler twist on a Summer Collection. Typically you see brands thinking only warms for Summer and those shades tend to be challenging for me. Thank you for this post!

It makes me feel very happy to see bold spring colors. Spring is finally here! The blush looks gorgeous and wearable as long as you blend them out. I don’t think I’ll get the eye shadows. Too much pink or red near my eyes makes me look tired.

The coral lip is stunning! Way more impact than I’d have thought looking at in the tube
