Dior Cool Wave Summer

Dior Cool Wave Summer

Isn’t Blop the best name for nail polish ever? Dior has the whole aquatic, swimming pool hue thing nailed with their Summer 2018 collection, Cool Wave. I’ve been sent a few key pieces but there is another eye palette (Heat Up) that’s more bronze toned and much easier to wear. If you’re feeling experimental, Pixiwoo You Tube has plenty of blue shadow tutorials to steer you in the right direction.

Cool Down (above) is five shades of blue veering from silver to the brightest turquoise. All but the middle shade are shimmery.

The most interesting things, I think, are the Cooling Sticks – waterproof, wet-effect eye colours that leave a light sheen across the lid. I’ve not worn them long enough to know how well they fare for longevity but I’m happier with this Bronze shade than the blues! It comes in three colours – Bronze Wave (above), Gold Splash and Fresh Pink.

I have two of the Dior Addict Lipsticks for the summer collection: Nude Chill and Pink Drop. They’re a juicy consistency giving off plenty of shine and these particular shades are milky in the finish.

The blue gloss is a Lip Maximizer in Pool Blue, containing mint and plumpers – a refresh on a hot day! It’s so light in colour that the minimal blue hint is a bit lost to be honest.

This is the Cool Down palette swatched, followed by the Bronze Cooling Stick and the Lip Maximizer.

And, finally the lip colours: Nude Chill and Pink Drop. So, that’s it. Has Cool Wave got you thinking of pools and bikinis or are you wondering how the heck to do the blue?! The collection is HERE.

This is a lovely collection, although the blue eyeshadow isn’t for me. Dark navy is ok, but anything else and I feel I’m on dodgy ground. However, the eyeshadow stick in bronze is a beauty. That, together with Blop (you’re right, it’s the best name ever!) has got me thinking of my holidays. Can’t wait to swim in the sea, sun on my body and the smell of warm sand. I’ll be thinking “blop” as I jump into the pool.

Looks pretty, Dior has been really great since last year with their releases. I am waiting to see the warm eyeshadow palette, blue just makes my eyes look dead!

The bronzing powder is really very good my opinion . I tried it this very day ( wearing Chanel les Beiges Embellisseur belle mine ), it’s just perfect . When I saw the price on Dior, I thought there was a mistake but this year all bronzers come without a mini kabuki and pans are sooo much lighter too ! It’s quite a good option in fact and the formula itself is truly awesome . It gives a very healthy and soft glow. I love this Cool Wave collection, it is worth the splurge and those 2 eyeshadow palettes are beautiful . The sticks too, they remind me of the Chanel ones they feel so cool on the eyelids and are water resistant ( they wear clearly longer than the Chanel ones ). The nail polishes oh just stunning all 4 !

Whoo! That is some blue pigment. It’s a lovely palette, but not something I’m likely to pick up unless I wear these shades often. I tend to use more budget friendly brands for shades like these.
