Clinique High Impact Zero Gravity Mascara

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] The new Clinique High Impact Zero Gravity Mascara slotted in so well to my favourites that it’s as though I’ve always had it there. I really rate Clinique mascaras in general – they’re absolutely reliable and get the job done beautifully and I can’t think of a time I’ve ever had an issue. I actually unearthed an old Black Honey mascara from the Chubby Lash collection in 2015 (if ever there was a bring-back waiting to happen, it’s Black Honey Mascara) which I stopped short of using but I really wanted to!

As you can see, there’s a tidy curve in the brush and it’s a kind of in between size – not too big and not too small. I find it can get under my lashes quite easily to brush through and it leaves a perfect coating with a little lift in one go so you can build or not, just as you want. I’d give this to my mum and my daughter equally – it’s just a very decent day to day, suit-all mascara. It’s tubing which is also a big bonus (my windows are telling the sorry story of the rain we have had!) – if you have trouble with smudging or flaking, it’s definitely for you. At £22 HERE I think it’s an excellent buy.

In terms of newness, aside from the mascara, there is a Lash Amplifying Serum (£36 HERE) which is described as a ‘conditioning blend’ and certainly seems that way. Hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, ginseng, turmeric, alma (Indian gooseberry) extract with caffeine, arginine and peptides amongst others. You need to wait 12 weeks for the full effects to show – it’s hard to get a handle on whether it’s going to perform on growth like Rapid Lash but reviews so far seem to be enthusiastic. Maybe it’s telling that they use the words ‘amplify’ your lashes rather than any mention of growth per se.

There’s also a couple of new brow pencils (I can’t get excited) and the High Impact Easy Liquid Liner, £20 HERE which I can’t find anything easy about unless you’re good at these felt tip applications. In fact, it’s the same formula as Pretty Easy Liquid Liner – it’s been renamed to join the High Impact family. However, it does come in brown (Espresso) and that’s unusual and welcome for those who struggle to find anything other than black. Clinique is running an offer just now that includes my favourite foundation/blusher brush – the Buff Brush (or a primer) – as a free gift (worth £29) if you spend over £30 on any two make up items, one of which has to be a foundation. All the foundations have £5 off anyway so if you need to stock up, now is the time. I’ll flag up Even Better Glow Light Reflecting for this offer – perfect for the new spring light HERE.
