What a great idea from Team Tilbury – four quick, five minute looks in one bag. Having just done a quick overnighter in Frankfurt for work I can say that my carry on makeup bag is a proper muddle – I wish I’d had this 24 hours ago! Split into a Daytime Chic look, a Natural Glowing look, a Red Carpet Party look and a Smokey Eye Evening look, the remit of the kits is to get you ready in a flash.
The sample kit I have is the Natural Glowing look and I think it’s the best one, containing a Mini Wonderglow, Legendery Lashes mascara (mini) and Amber Haze Colour Chameleon Shadow Stick, Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria and for cheeks, Beach Stick in Moon Beach which is a light hit peachy shade. Plus the bag – obviously.
There’s a slight anomoly with the Red Carpet look kit – a mini Wonderglow, a Kohl in Brown, a Lip Cheat liner and Matte Revolution Lipstick in Red Carpet, which is only four products and to be honest, wouldn’t have me ‘red carpet’ ready at all… cheeks, lashes? Maybe you’re supposed to do lipstick dots and blend, which does work, but it just seems like there’s something missing! Clearly missing from all is foundation, but Wonderglow does do a soft focus, skin smoothing thing so if you’re blessed with beautiful skin from the get-go, you’ll be fine.

Being honest, I think I’d have to add in a few of my own items (black kohl, foundation or BB cream) but the core of a beautiful look is there. I love the fact that it’s pre-edited so not much thought is required – because sometimes it’s just a relief that someone else did the thinking for you. Charlotte’s entire collection is split into ‘looks’ so the Quick Kits are completely in keeping with the main body of the range – apart from Red Carpet which does seem to me to need an extra item, I think these are wonderful and, the ‘quick’ fix marketing spin aside, a really good introduction to the Tilbury range if you have resisted so far. They’re £55 each. I don’t have a launch date for them yet but I will guess very early January.

I still think this is a beautiful set – ‘kits’ is what Charlotte Tilbury does best – and surprised to find that it’s still in stock HERE.
