Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic + Happikiss

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] The new lip offering from Charlotte Tilbury taps right in the less is more vibe except in typical CT style, it’s more than most of the less! Initially, I though these would be tinted balms but in fact, they’re more pigmented than most of the balm style products I’ve seen lately.

Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic + Happikiss Colour Balm

The brand describes it as a lipstick gloss balm although it doesn’t have the full saturation of a regular lipstick, there certainly is plenty of colour in the majority of shades. It’s the first formula I’ve found in best selling shade Pillow Talk that is wearable for me because it’s the right amount of colour and shine. I didn’t want to be predictable and love it but I do.

A word of warning if you think you might like the look of them – once you have wound the colour up, you can’t wind it down again so don’t over-wind in the first place. This is a good example of why reviews are important! The little things you’d never know otherwise, or too late.

In the line up, it’s Happi Berry, Enchanting Kiss, Crystal Happiness, Passion Kiss, Romance Kiss and Pillow Talk.

Hyaluronic + Happikiss

The same line up in the swatch, bottom to top: Happi Berry, Enchanting Kiss, Crystal Happiness, Passion Kiss, Romance Kiss and Pillow Talk. Texturally, on the lip, they’re not weightless but they are very, very comfortable. I know that lip smoothing claims are based on glossiness so that they ‘look’ smoother, but in this case, I really did think that my lips looked smoother underneath the gloss – especially after an hour or so. They’re £25 each which is a lot, I think, but on the other hand, I’ve worn Pillow Talk three days in a row. What can I say? They’re HERE, non-affiliate HERE.

I’m trying to be a bit more brave about showing colours – somehow I have no problem doing it on Instagram but when it comes to here I come over all shy! But, I’m really happy with this version of Pillow Talk so here it is – a dishevelled, just back from the dog walk, picture!

Thank you for the picture. Think it looks lovely on you.

I have been enjoying your IG posts and find your reviews here really helpful for the details and the links. It’s always great to see swatches and it’s also really useful to see it on.

      Thanks Charlotte!

wow that is annoying not to be able to wind down. Great tip!

It’s really poor! Can’t imagine why.

Thanks Jane. This is really helpful, particularly as we can’t see/try anything on counter at this time. I realised a wee while ago that I could do with something like this in my lipsticks. Having read your review I do fancy one of these. The Pillow Talk looks great on you BTW.

Thanks Lynn – really easy colour to wear. I’ll do more like this as long as nobody minds non-glossy snaps taken in my kitchen 🙂

  4. Laurie

I’ve come off IG because I just can’t handle any social media at the moment so it’s nice to see your face, Jane!

Oh thank you so much Laurie – I hear you – I’ve taken Twitter off my phone screen so it has to be an active choice to go on rather than drifting on and off all the time. And I’ve really regulated my time lines so I’m only seeing (mainly) stuff that I want to see rather than letting it all just float through regardless. I don’t follow major influencers and never have so I quite like my IG timeline because its a mix of things. I’ll do more kitchen snaps to show product though – it’s easy enough to do.. just a question of the confidence to do it.

I have two and love them but it is annoying you can’t wind them back down.

Very helpful to see a pic of it on – I find it quite difficult sometimes to guess how a shade will translate on the lips, plus it’s always nice to see such a genuine, lovely smile Jane 🙂

Thank you so much Jo 🙂
