[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] The new lip offering from Charlotte Tilbury taps right in the less is more vibe except in typical CT style, it’s more than most of the less! Initially, I though these would be tinted balms but in fact, they’re more pigmented than most of the balm style products I’ve seen lately.
The brand describes it as a lipstick gloss balm although it doesn’t have the full saturation of a regular lipstick, there certainly is plenty of colour in the majority of shades. It’s the first formula I’ve found in best selling shade Pillow Talk that is wearable for me because it’s the right amount of colour and shine. I didn’t want to be predictable and love it but I do.
A word of warning if you think you might like the look of them – once you have wound the colour up, you can’t wind it down again so don’t over-wind in the first place. This is a good example of why reviews are important! The little things you’d never know otherwise, or too late.
In the line up, it’s Happi Berry, Enchanting Kiss, Crystal Happiness, Passion Kiss, Romance Kiss and Pillow Talk.
The same line up in the swatch, bottom to top: Happi Berry, Enchanting Kiss, Crystal Happiness, Passion Kiss, Romance Kiss and Pillow Talk. Texturally, on the lip, they’re not weightless but they are very, very comfortable. I know that lip smoothing claims are based on glossiness so that they ‘look’ smoother, but in this case, I really did think that my lips looked smoother underneath the gloss – especially after an hour or so. They’re £25 each which is a lot, I think, but on the other hand, I’ve worn Pillow Talk three days in a row. What can I say? They’re HERE, non-affiliate HERE.
I’m trying to be a bit more brave about showing colours – somehow I have no problem doing it on Instagram but when it comes to here I come over all shy! But, I’m really happy with this version of Pillow Talk so here it is – a dishevelled, just back from the dog walk, picture!
