Chantecaille Butterfly Collection 2021

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] There’s nothing about the Chantecaille Butterfly Collection that I don’t like – it’s so timely for the optimism of spring and has one of the few eye palettes that has made me feel keen to do more than apply mascara.

As we’ve come to expect, there’s a philanthropical element to this with a donation to the Xerces Society under whose Invertebrate Conservation programme, butterflies fit. Butterfly facts? Yes – here we go… butterflies are travellers who, together with bees and other pollinators, sustain 85% of our flowering species. They’re intensely sensitive to habitat loss due to climate change or pesticides meaning that they’re on the decline – in fact, 30% of butterflies world wide are under threat of extinction. Butterfly names could become a new hobby – I mean, I think in real life I’ve only ever heard of a handful but after looking through the Xerces Society HERE website, I now know there’s a rare butterfly called Johnson’s Hairstreak, a St Francis Satyr and Leona’s Little Blue – who is Leona and why isn’t this butterfly blue? So. Many. Questions.

The Butterfly Eye Quartet is obviously the star in this butterfly show. Four wearable shades in the most silky texture ever. I love that they’ve included a shade shifter that replicates the iridescence of a butterfly wing. You’ll notice as soon as the brush touches your lids that you get full colour in one smooth, light-hit pass. It’s £68 HERE, non-affiliate HERE.

There are three Lip Chic shades – I have two here – in a glossy lipstick formula.

The shades are Peach Blossom (green) and Clover (blue) – both very easy colours to wear. They have a translucent element and are very shiny so give a beautiful dewy finish that’s infused with colour but not high impact. They’re £38 each from SpaceNK HERE, non-affiliate HERE.

Swatches from bottom to top are the Butterfly palette followed by Peach Blossom and Clover.

I watched the space nk/ chantecaille zoom and apparently if you spray the shadows with their Rose water spray they become metallic. Not sure if they meant the duo chrome or all of them

I think you can do it with just plain water and the effect will be the same :-). They’re gorgeous, gentle colours so I’m going to try them wet as well so thanks for the suggestion x
