An autumn collection so soon! But, the Chanel Travel Diary selection is more about Luca Pica’s travels rather than a collection to take while you travel. But you obviously can, especially the star of the collection, The Palette Essentielle is a blush, highlight and concealer all in one (it comes in three colourways).
The shade I have here is Beige Clair which seems just right to me for a late September, still got a bit of warmth on my skin, touch up and go. It’s £54. The collection, by the way, launches in August. They’re all creme formulas but the concealer is the least ‘loose’ of the three.
The eye palette is called Road Movie (there are two palettes) and the shades are so deep!
I wish I could show you the photographs that Lucia took for inspiration for this palette which makes it so much more relatable and cohesive, but I think, nearer the time they may go online at Chanel.com. The Quad is £42.
The most unusual item in the Chanel Travel Diary collection is this liquid liner – it comes with its own cartridge just like an ink pen. It’s the one thing I haven’t tested yet, but I’m so intrigued by it. It’s £31.
There are two Ombre Premier Cremes – this one I have here (the other is blue) is called Memory, in a soft, golden sand shade. I have it swatched next to the new brow pen. It’s £25.
As you’d expect, it’s a super smooth application and it comes with a little applicator brush (not sponge).
Lips! Yes, of course there are lips and they’re very ‘Chanel’. An ultra bright red (orange accents) called Experimental in the Rouge Coco formula (£28), and a matte wine shade called Nightfall in Rouge Allure Velvet (£28). The brow pen is also pictured and comes in several shades.
There’s a new shade Rouge Allure Ink in Highway (£28), and it’s pictured next to Horizon Line nail polish (£20).
In the swatch from bottom to top it’s Nightfall, Experimental and Highway. It’s quite a small edit – something to keep us busy before the full winter collection. It’s a 4th August launch date everywhere.
