Burberry Cashmere Concealer

I like Burberry foundations – they’re always the right side of fluid for me which makes them beautifully blendable and they sit very nicely on the skin. Both Burberry Cashmere Foundation and Burberry Cashmere Concealer launch any moment now, and I have a general round up post HERE with my thoughts on the Cashmere Foundation which I’ve already tested. Along with the concealer, there is also a new Face Contour Stick and the Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighting Lumious Pen.

The cashmere finish is a demi matte, which isn’t ideal for concealer, especially if you have creases under your eyes. The most important thing to prevent concealer lying in creases is a good level of ‘wet’ ingredients; matte finish is by it’s nature, quite dry, so it just doesn’t make an ideal concealer.

I found it too dry for under the eyes, but absolutely fine everywhere else. If you have no creases, then this will probably work really well for you, but anyone with fine lines there will find them exacerbated. I’m not sure the fluffy applicator helps either – its kind of a sponge/puff hybrid but somehow I always end up having to use my fingers or a brush to get the right finish.

So, here I have swatched the concealer, the Fresh Glow Highlighting Pen and the Contour Pen. I’ve snapped these in sunlight, but on my face, I really didn’t get the highlighting at all.. I suspect this is a perfect make-up artist product for beauty close-ups, but in real life, it’s not that amazing in my view. I’d be most likely to use it just below the brow, and the slimness of the crayon will make this easy. The contour pen on the other hand is great. I’m not a contourer at all, but even in stick form, this has enough slip that you get a very good blend out and it’s slim so you can really be precise.

It’s a September launch for all of these.. so right about now. The Fresh Glow Pen is £25 and the Contour Pen is also £25.

  1. Good day! I ordered my contour and highlight sticks from the States and I’m very pleased with them. I’m not fond of contouring as such, but feel that these are precise and good enough to make it subtle and smart love from Dubai!

Burberry packaging is always to die for! I love the idea of the contour pen, so I might check that out, but I feel there are so many lovely affordable concealers out there that do such a great job it doesn’t really make sense to splurge. That being said, I might purchase it for the packaging alone!

I have never tried any Burberry cosmetics before but I am in love with the packaging and keen to try some out. I really like the look of the highlighting pen, it is a really stunning shade.
