Bourjois Little Round Pot Revamped

I think this is Bourjois’ last hurrah before it disappears off to Coty. The Bourjois Little Round Pot Revamped throws up some interesting facts – for example, did you know that each little round pot is made to give you 700 applications? I’ve never seen an eyeshadow broken down like that before. The new revamp starts with a nude collection split into four pearls, two mattes and two shimmers.

I’ll kick off with the shimmers, Originale and Brun de Folie.

Actually, they’re very high shimmer, but I have to say I got rather confused with some of the pearls which seem as sparkly as the ‘shimmers’.

The pearls, going clockwise from bottom are: Mauve Star, Emauvante, Ingenude and Generose.

These seem to be a bit more shy on pigment than the other finishes, but it’s the usual creamy-powdery texture we expect from Bourjois.

Finally, the mattes, Utopique and Noctam Brun.

It’s quite a long wait for the new look pots and colours to launch – right at the very end of September – but I really like that they’ve tapped into the nude trend with single shades. Nobody needs another nude palette, but when one of your shades runs low but the others are still going strong, a Little Round Pot might fill that gap!

When they launch, they’ll be £6.99 each – pretty good for 700 applications!

  1. I’ve always loved Bourjois Little Round Pots (they were among some of the first makeup I bought with my first wage- they seemed so sophisticated and grown up!) and I will definitely be making a beeline for the new matte shades. I hope that the brand continues to be as good under new management!

  2. I think I’ll pick up Emauvante – looks like a lovely perfecting matt’ish eyeshadow base colour, a bit like Wet n Wild’s Brulee but easier to get hold of. Originale looks like a lovely ‘light catching’ centre of lid colour too. I pretty much like all of these though.

  3. I’m definitely going to get some of these as they look so cute in the little pots

I really like the sound of these. I am a big fan of Bourjois eye shadows because of the texture and easy application. I am definitely going to check these out when they are finally released.

I hope Coty keeps Bourjois image. The dome makeup just makes it easily identifiable. I have to admit though, buying it in the UK, Selfridges or wherever it was sold or even at David Jones in Australia was much more exciting than buying it here in the US. The French atmosphere of it disappeared, yet I still miss it!

Those matte shades shall be mine!
Is it odd that although I’m frolicking in summery shades, sef tanning (trying out the Melvita you recommended Jane) and bronzing myself into oblivion-I’m also looking forward to all the autumn products coming our way. I’m all like ” vampy lips and rosy cheeks, here I come” haha 🙂
On another note I am concerned about Bourjois and it doesn’t turn into Bodyshop situation. It might all be in my head but to me Bodyshop makeup has not quite been the same since L’oreal bought them out. I feel like the last Christmas collection was underwelming and I don’t even know where to start with the Spring collection with that quad with the yellow shade in it. It’s not that I dont think the Bodyshop shouln’t branch out and be more adventurous but it looks and feels like imitation raher than innovation.
I’m not sure how this turned into a commentary about the Bodyshop but I just hope Coty evolves Bourjois rather than rebrand them in less than a year.

I think we are all worried about Bourjois to be honest.. re Body Shop, I think it takes many, many years for a brand to evolve with a new owner: we’re just on the tip of the iceberg I think but my feeling is that L’Oreal are very proud to have Body Shop and from what I see so far have been respectful of its roots. Yes, that quad. Need I say more.. expect a few bloopers!

You’re totally right. Nice to hear an insider speak well of the L’oreal Bodyshop relationship. I love the recent non-tradtional scents in all the new bodycare launches-the mojito line was geniusI remember Bodyshop makeup being a solid contender next to other brands back in the day. I just hope they tackle that department soon.
