How can anyone not be tempted in by wine and chocolate. I know I can’t resist! This is a little bit of a different collection for BB – the two nail polishes at the front are from the Bobbi Brown Wine & Chocolate Collection but the theme continues into the forthcoming gifting collection with this Party Picks Kit and the most stunning ox-blood patent makeup bag. I’d buy the bag alone because it’s absolutely delicious! I”ve got the polishes (Wine and, er, Chocolate) swatched below but thought you’d like a sneaky look at what’s happening if we fast forward through the Bobbi Brown Wine & Chocolate Collection to October.
I like Bobbi glosses – they’re always ultra shiny and the last is decent. These are £12.50 each.
Although I think that makeup has transcended traditional ‘party’ looks of old because we’re so much more open to off-season and making looks work for us rather than brands telling us when and where, the Party Picks Kit is spot on for a pared back, glowy look with a dash of shimmer in the form of the Crystal Lip Glitter. It’s clear so you can wear alone or over any other colour such as the Party Alice lip colour (which is a predictable Bobbi style nude so Party Alice is keeping it staid – in bed before 10pm, I imagine, with a mug of cocoa and a worthy book) and the Opal Glow Highlight. As you can see, Eye Opening Mascara is included for a big lash look. So, it’s glowy, shimmery and pretty but a bit spendy at £75.
There are only one or two items from the Bobbi Gifting Collection that go the extra mile in being a bit different – the Original 10 2th Anniversary Lip Collection for a start – Bobbi’s original 10 shades in a mini format which I would certainly love to see (it’s on its way).
