There’s something reassuring about predictability; I’ve been seeing the Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful products every year since the campaign began five years ago. I always greet the latest version with happiness – that Pretty Powerful still goes on and hasn’t wavered in its support of charities that help women. So, to explain a little – the full RRP (minus VAT) goes from the Pretty Powerful Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks (£21) purchase to Smart Works, a charity that gives interview clothes and interview training to women with a low income seeking employment.
When you’ve got nothing, it’s hard to get anything at all, never mind a job, and yet we all know that feeling you look good puts a spring in your step. It’s not just about how you feel, it’s also about how you’re perceived and that is never more important than at a job interview. It’s make or break. To give you some idea of the difference it can make, Smart Women dressed over 2500 women for their interviews and over half went on to be successful in getting the job. It’s not just about clothes though; interview training counts for so much – beginning with self-belief is the best way to make any change in your life.
Here’s the shade swatched up – a neutral pink/brown that’s good for most, if not all, tones to add a pinch of colour to the cheeks or a wash of style to the lips. I have to also point out that the Bobbi Brown website has implemented a system where you can donate more if you want to. If you want to bypass the make up completely and make a donation of money or good quality clothes to Smart Works, it’s HERE. Otherwise, if you want to top up on a Pot Rouge, the Pretty Powerful shade is HERE.
