I finally found my little Benefit She Shells pot – I had completely forgotten about the pearl!
This mustardy colour is called She Star. I remember that Boots did a copy of the shell shaped packaging some time later but it didn’t have the pearl and was much smaller.
You could get either eye colours or lip colours – as I think I’ve mentioned, trying to research this product is difficult because I can learn all I could ever want in a life time about the benefits of sea shells and scallops as that’s what Google throws up using the search terms, but in general there isn’t a great deal of information about She Shells although I am sure they will be familiar to beauty lovers.
I’m also including the Benefit (another thing I’d forgotten is that Benefit was known as BeneFit and I don’t know when they dropped that mid-way capital F) Chickster Garter since Bathina fragrance is something that seems to resonate most with readers about this brand.
The garter was made with brides in mind – especially brides who couldn’t go the whole day without a top up of their favourite fragrance. Inside the lacy pocket attached to the garter is a little pot of Bathina scented powder so you could dust wherever it was wanted and get a layer of perfume.
Personally I can’t imagine having this thing strapped to my leg – it’s not that comfortable although it’s more than a bit of velcro to hold it together. It has proper hook and eyes sewn to make something like a bra fastening so you can get a decent fit and there’s a little popper to hold the fragrance in. So, there’s plenty of attention to detail but the elastic is fierce! You can find these knocking around on eBay sites worldwide – cheap as chips too at a just a few quid.
