[productsamples/affiliate] The Anna Sui brand brings it every single time! I really admire the way that it’s still an experimental brand – not everything works or appeals but there always seems to be a push to do something different from the herd.
While many make up brands choose black as their packaging signature, few opt to make it as elaborate as this. The Sui Black collection for autumn celebrates and showcases the richness of the colour, continuing the theme through to the colours, too.
So, we might as well kick off with the Black Cream Blush (£23) made to a wax-oil-gel formula that transforms to an individual colour on each person, although it will be a nuance of translucent blackened pink.
There are two shade variants of the Sui Black Rouge (£19) with a core of colour wrapped in a black tint. The surrounding glossy tint is a clear grey initially but just gives a greyed deep pink undertone edge as it warms on the lips and blends to the core shade. This one is Purple Rose and the other shade is a red tone, Deep Red.
There are 8 shades of Anna Sui Black Rouge (£19) – above are: Dyed In Wine, Neon Pink (which has a subtle blue shift), Royal Red and Cherry Red. These are such an easy wear if you like strong colours – the pigment is high without being overkill, the feel is silky, and I find the longevity very decent. I should mention that all the products have a light tea rose fragrance which is particularly lovely when using the blush (coming next) – when you swirl your brush you get a little waft of rose.
While the Black Cream blush is a creme formula, the rest of the blushes (£19) for this collection are powder. They’re a thoughtful formula that uses sebum absorbing powder so if cheek shine is an issue, it’s sorted. At the same time, there’s an oil component so the blush is flexible and moves with your skin. If you like powder blush, I can’t see there could be a single complaint about this. So, on to swatches:
This is the Black Cream Blush – I’ve used far more for swatching than I’d use on my face!
In the swatch above from bottom to top, it’s: Cherry Red, Neon Pink, Dyed In Wine, Royal Red and Purple Rose. Everything is online at Amazon HERE so if you’re wondering about bringing out your inner vamp (or goth), now’s the time! Below is the pen liner – I completely forgot to swatch it but I’m sure a black line on my arm won’t be missed!
