Anna Sui Powder Pot

Anna Sui Powder Pot

Even if you’re not a loose powder fan (are there any left?), this powder pot is everything! It’s just so gorgeous that even if you don’t fill it with the powder inserts, you could fill it with anything – jewellery, pennies, jelly beans (mini eggs?) – you name it! I’m absolutely making a space for it in my bedroom and I almost never use loose powder (exception is Dior and even that is rare). If I had a dressing table that’s where it would sit. You might like to know that it’s based on Anna Sui’s concept of a fairy house….

As you can see it’s black lacquer look (it’s plastic) with a gold rim – both embellished with typical Anna style flowers. It’s as close to Les Merveilleuses Laduree (HERE), also the same holding company as Anna Sui and Paul & Joe, as I’ve seen because the brands usually stay very separate.  Les Merveilleuses currently has a pot with parrot on top and it’s notoriously expensive. This little Anna pot is £13.00 which is more than reasonable! It’s HERE. The powder is £22 and that does seem pricy for a dot of powder. Grab the pot, leave the powder :-).

I like loose powder but find it too messy. Pressed powder and a brush works a treat and doesn’t go everywhere. Korres Wild Rose compact powder is my go-to. But your right, that one is worthwhile just for the pot and that puff!

I love loose powder – Coty Airspun for choice. My powder pot is currently my Granny’s old Wedgewood powder pot but this is very pretty.
