I think you’d have to go a very long way to find a make up collection as pretty as the Anna Sui autumn offering, Mysterious Fairy Tale. In case you hadn’t noticed, the Anna Sui Cosmetics brand is undergoing a revival with new packaging and a strong self select element, allowing you to build the palette you want and easily replace finished colours without having to buy an entirely new palette.
As you can see both eyes and lips come in bon-bon like pans that you then place in the larger floral palette (£12) or the smaller one (£8). The new white edition (black is the standard line) is a limited edition anniversary collection.
Eye shades are embossed with a beautiful white butterfly – the colours themselves (all 7 of them) are bright with the exception of brown. Other shades include purple, pink and turquoise so you need to be in the mood for bold!
There are five shades of gloss – they all have a very shiny finish with a semi translucent base – 05 (orange) is ultra glittery, as is 01 (translucent) while other shades are shimmery rather than all out glitter.
The palettes are strongly magnetic so there is absolutely no chance of any of the shades slipping – I keep thinking what a gorgeous bridal keepsake these would make because there is something very romantic about them.
Although the eye colours look semi-scary in their brightness, seen in a palette format, they’re following the sunset shade trend and also good for mono-colour graphic eyes. They’re bold but adaptable and blendable so you can add a nuance of bright if you can’t quite go all out.
As far as the little gloss pots go, I’m showing the chunky glitters (last two) and a couple of the shimmery shades. These are very loose glosses – feather light, super shiny and all can be used over lipstick if you want to give it gleam. Each gloss pot is £9 and each eye shade is £9 so to fill a palette soon adds up. I honestly wish it wasn’t so expensive to be whimsical! The collection is launching over the next few days on Amazon, ASOS and Beauty Bay.
