[sample/affiliate] There have been mixed reviews in the USA where it’s already launched for this liquid luminous foundation from ABH and I think I can see why.
There are 50 shades which is an excellent offering, split into categories of Deep, Fair, Light, Tan and Medium.
The first shade is 240N and the second is 130N, neither of which is right for my tone, but I mixed them together and got something quite acceptable. The coverage is medium/high and gives a nice light bounce on the skin. However, you do need to prep your skin well before using it, otherwise it seems to sit on top of the complexion rather than becoming one with it. It’s a water resistant formula which may well have something to do with it. So, I tried it two ways – no prep, and on thoroughly moisturised skin and it definitely worked best when I’d really massaged my skin first with moisturiser which made me think that the hydration gave the foundation a bit more flexiblity and have a better ‘skin fit’. Without any prep, I really felt it was just sitting on my skin – especially over my nose where it made pores look worse.
Bottom swatch is 130N and top is 240N. So, the upshot is that I don’t think it’s right if you have dry skin but if you have oily skin it may suit you quite well. I liked the feel of it (I don’t usually like anything with waterproofing). I’d strongly suggest that you get colour matched if possible – it’s £43 which is a pretty expensive mistake. It’s coming to the UK very soon – and I think the Charlotte Tilbury new foundation launches next week (or perhaps the week after) and I’ve also been putting that through its paces.
