ABH Glow Kit

[productsample/affiliate] We’re heading into ‘glow season’ like it or not (I like it) so expect an influx of glowy things. Starting with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit which I haven’t seen before (but am not sure if it’s new).

This particular set is best for those with a warm or deep tone either naturally or from the sun. Even the lightest shade, Summer, has a peachy aspect to it so it’s not for anyone who needs pink or blue tones.

The thing with highlight powders is that they usually all look the same at first glance, but don’t necessarily perform the same. To my mind, these have a lot of oil in them (you can smell it if you get your nose right in there) but that does make for a very smooth and glowy finish. They’re velvety to the touch and diffuse on the skin extremely nicely – that seamless gleam that everyone wants is achievable with this and a decent brush.

The bottom line is that highlighters, particularly powder formulas, are one of the most available beauty products around. They’re absolutely everywhere so you’d want to think about whether paying £41 HERE for this is getting you more than mainstream. I completely accept that anyone’s beauty budget is their business and not mine, and for some, ordering and knowing you’re getting something reliably good is more than worth it – for others it won’t be. My personal view on this is that it’s above average for the genre, satisfyingly gleamy and strong colours that you don’t see as often (such as Tourmaline). In the swatch above it’s (bottom to top) Summer, Moonstone, Tourmaline and Bronzed. The one thing I would say is that they don’t swatch on the skin the same colours they look in the pan. 1. I really like the look of these shades, although I think you’re right – they’re most suited to someone with warmer/deeper skin tones, which is sadly not me, although I might be able to pull a couple of them off with a tan…

I also agree about the availability as I saw this palette and thought it looked a lot like many others around. Having said that, I’m always blown away by ABH (their brow stuff, my god) so I would probably still get swayed by this palette xx

This glow kit is not new. It was on every beauty Instagram fir a while and at the time was worth the price as you got four huge pans of varying tones of highlighter that suits most skin tones. I love mine and I regularly reach for it. Haven’t made a dent in it!

I have this palette and think it’s lovely. I’m naturally around a tan, so it works perfectly for me. I (regrettably!) paid full price for it back when it first released but ABH always put their highlighter kits on half price at black friday, even on the UK site. For anyone interested but doesn’t want to shell out full price, might be worth a gander.

That’s a great tip, thank you!
