This one is for hair fans! It’s absolute fact that when I sleep on a silk pillowcase, my hair is far less ‘morning-ish’ than if I use a cotton one. I don’t always use a pillow for sleeping because I tend to sleep on my front, but I’m trying to quit that habit which is not so hard now I’m reading books again as I often nod off propped up. I know, it’s as un-pretty as it sounds! But, I do always use something to tie my hair up at night for a tidier morning result. A silk scrunchie acts in the same way on your hair as a silk pillow case – in a more minor way obviously – in that it doesn’t disrupt the hair shaft and make it rumpled. So, if you tie your hair and use (heaven forbid) an elastic band, you will have a hot mess around the tie-site but to a lesser extent, also with a regular elastic tie.
These silk covered scrunchies will protect the local area where you tie against knotting, tangling and breaking, whether you’re sleeping or awake and out and about – I mean they are a luxury at £12 a tie but if you know someone who pays close attention to their hair health and look, then it’s a nice little Christmas option to keep them sleek. I guess you could say the same about silk robes – nobody ‘needs’ one, but they’re so much more lovely than towelling! You can find the scrunchies HERE.
