L’Occitane Almond Oil Shampoo & Conditioner

Trends are constantly shifting in beauty world – almost weekly at the moment – with a current shift to upgrading staples, such as shampoo, deodorant and conditioner as examples. Digging into this, it seems that beauty consumers are looking for products that feel more comforting, luxurious and treating than their usual grab-and-go’s. Which makes perfect sense – you cope how you can and feeling emotionally nourished by taking (perceived) better care of yourself is 100% legitimate self care. If you’re an almond-scent hater, look away now! If that’s the case, this is the opposite of self care – it will be torture. If you love the scent of almond however, L’Occitane’s new shampoo is a journey into bliss!

L’Occitane Almond Oil Shampoo & Conditioner

The fragrance is a blend of almond blossom and light florals and leaves just the right trace on your tresses so that when you swish, your nose gets a subtle re-boot of the perfume. I think the best candidates for these products are those with hair that veers dry or lacks lustre. The conditioner is very softening which while lovely for those of us with frizz or dryness, could knock any body out of fine or oilier types. On my post-dyed hair, it gave a beautiful result in terms of smoothness and swish. This pair does feel very ‘treat-ish’ – the shampoo is £16 and the conditioner is £16.50  (bundle for £32, saving £3) and came at exactly the right time for me (someone knocked over my Elvive 8 Second Wonder Water which is literally my favourite thing right now and only available in the US) and I’m enjoying it enormously. Which I suppose is exactly the point of a personal care upgrade.

As a quick addition, I noticed that the brand are producing Verbena Hand Sanitizer – since it’s a thing that’s not likely to leave our routines any time soon, it does seem an obvious up-grader (surely any minute now Jo Malone will start the most luxury versions) and I bought three for my dad because it’s his favourite L’Occitane fragrance.  You can find the bundle HERE, non affiliate HERE.
