SpaceNK Shimmering Spice Candle

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] A welcome return for one of my favourite Christmas candles – I always think this goes a bit under the radar for some reason and yet, it’s really such a lovely scent.

SpaceNK Festive Candle

It usually has a design make-over every year – they could probably do a bit more with that actually.. get some young designers onto it – but it’s always fairly subtle, just designed to fit in anywhere. And, it does. There’s enough cedar in this that it’s not a sweet, sickly aroma – there is cinnamon and spices but it’s more mulled wine than eggnog.

I think it’s nice to have at dusk to bring the day to a close and segue into evening especially if you’re working from home and need a line drawn. It’s not nearly as pricey as many other candles – the large is £26 and the small is £16 – and gives enough back in terms of ambience and flavour of the moment to not feel like a massive indulgence burning in front of your eyes :-). I’ve had this for the last five or six years, as well as the Elemis one (I don’t have that this year) and a Diptyque variant and like the cosiness they bring. Shimmering Spice is HERE, non affiliate HERE. I always think someone should invent a New Year candle – a particular aroma that isn’t Christmassy but is still wintery and holiday-ish that can take us into January without us feeling it’s Christmas Eve all over again!

Shearer Candles do a lovely New Year candle called Hogmanay! I like it for exactly the reasons you say, it’s festive without being overly Christmassy.

ooh a honeyed snowdrop candle would be just the thing to perk one up in the early frosted months followed by lily of the valley later in the spring…In fact some clever soul could surely put together a year long collection of month-appropriate floral scented candles – I’d sign up for that! Jo 🙂

      Snowdrops would be perfect!
