[unpaid/sample] I need to quickly put right yesterday’s post where somehow I thought I had Kenzo Poppy Bouquet when in fact, it’s the new version of the original. All I can say is poppies everywhere, lockdown brain and zero concentration levels were at play, so my sincerest apologies and here we go…. (again)…
I think I said yesterday that there was something very garden-ish about it and it’s true – it’s soft and floral with very gentle notes of citrus, using vanilla to take the dry down to a warmer, more mellow place.
Most of all though, I think you’ll find that a delicate rose predominates – with touches of jasmine – and a very soft white musk finish. The master perfumer who created this is Alberto Morillas who used a rose hydrolat to reinvent the original By Kenzo twenty years on. Actually, he speaks of it as a bare skin scent – and there is a skin element to it – I felt I could wear it as I slept because it has that natural skin affinity – but he has put it into the words I couldn’t find yesterday. So, there we are – a very easy wear that seems perfect for spring time brightness and warmth that’s equally at home in summer when the heat turns sultry. All other details are the same and it launches on 12th April.
