Linda Landenberg Perfumes

Linda Landenberg Perfumes

I thought we might as well have a dedicated ‘Linda from Sweden’ day! Next up is Linda Landenberg Perfumes – exactly the sort of thing that those who love niche and unusual fragrances will love. When it comes to individual motivation, Linda possibly has one of the most unusual.  While she already had a strong interest in fragrance and worked within the industry she developed alopecia which can have the side effect of losing your sense of smell as well as your hair. Linda lost both but her sense of smell came back and she took the dive into creating bespoke fragrances which turned into four core scents.

It’s worth nothing that Linda’s perfumes get extremely good reviews on Fragantica.com, which is more or less THE fragrance bible. So, I have Lavender & Wool. It was created to replicate that moment of walking into a warm, cosy house from a cold wintery day. The warmth of a fire and a blanket around your shoulders – I definitely get that reference: it is warm, damp wool and moss scented with a very soft but quite powerful lavender note. I guess it’s about finding winter’s most subtle moments of pleasure rather than trying to replicate the obvious (fir trees etc). Lavender & Wool is one of the most unusual fragrances I have smelled – it’s your favourite jumper from when you were a kid, a mug of warm milk and a Provencal lavender field all rolled into one. My initial thoughts, when I tried it, were that I wanted it for a home scent not a body scent, but it did grow on my as the day wore on. I’d love my bed to smell of wool and lavender though! How lovely to sink into that scent on a freezing winter night.

There’s no UK stockist (there needs to be one) currently so you’d have to order directly from Linda’s site HERE. The fragrances are £139 each.
