[productsample] The thing about Lancome’s newest fragrance launch (coming very soon) that you will notice first is the bottle. It’s not like anything I’ve seen before being so slimline at 15mm thick that it only precariously stands up on its own.
It’s very unexpected and defies the norm when it comes to what form we anticipate in a bottle. I can’t decide if it matters or not whether it can hardly stand up because it’s equally beautiful lying down. Maybe that’s the whole point – it gets you thinking and I completely get the ‘precious stone’ reference.
The juice is a pinky/peach shade that highlights the rose gold hardware around the sides. So, the actual fragrance? Well, it’s going to be popular, let’s say that. In category, it would called a white chypre and it’s rather heady being a jasmine and rose blend. At first spritz, I didn’t like it at all – all I could detect was the vanilla which I found off-putting, but after a while on my skin, it settled and the jasmine (which is not quite captured at full blown) became more prominent and warm with just a back drop of rose.
Perhaps it is just a little too musky and patchouli laden for me – it’s not one I’d pick out for myself but I can very well see that it will resonate with popular tastes. I’ll be forever intrigued by the bottle! Prices start at £48 and you can read more about it HERE.
