Jo Malone Green Almond & Redcurrant Cologne

Jo Malone Green Almond & Redcurrant Cologne

Although I think it’s true that Jo Malone fragrances get lighter in scent with each new variant, I absolutely love this Green Almond & Redcurrant Cologne. It’s part of their seasonal range but could very easily sit outside of it because it’s not particularly festive (for that you need their Ginger Biscuit cologne, only stocked in stores).

As the name would suggest, the predominant notes are almond and redcurrant and I can certainly pick out the almond notes more than the redcurrant, which leaves a fruity nuance but nothing more. There’s a very creamy sandalwood note, too, that makes it a luxuriously smooth scent – it settles on the skin in moments.

It’s also a unisex fragrance and I’d back that up by telling you that Max had a spritz of it and immediately said, “that’s lovely – I’d wear that.” Obviously, I’ll have to hide it, because oh no he won’t! I know I can detect some vanilla notes (Tonka, I think) that don’t send Green Almond & Redcurrant anywhere sweet but just add to the creaminess and smoothness. In its way it’s quite soothing I think and made me think of soft cashmere. It seems to have already launched on the US site but not the UK yet.

If you’re already wincing at the forthcoming advent hysteria (yours for £300) but still fancy dipping a toe into a Jo Malone gift to self, I’d really recommend this – it feels like a treat and looks gorgeous.
