Jo Loves Pomelo Candle

Jo Loves Pomelo Candle

Jo Loves Pomelo is one of my most favourite fragrances in the entire world – it’s zesty, fruity and happy and definitely a good mood maker. So, it’s difficult to be disappointed with anything that carries that particular fragrance, but this candle just didn’t do it for me. I wanted a big billow of Pomelo and didn’t get one even though I gave it a good two hours on the burn, and I just don’t think this particular fragrance is one to do lightly. It’s the bigness of it that is most of the pleasure.

In every other form, fragrance spray, handwash and Paintbrush, it’s just as lovely as it ever was. It’s £55 so I think it’s fair to expect a generous throw. The brand is also doing a Mother’s Day special where you can get your candle personalised for £15 – again, very toppy for a paper label with your name on it. I know it’s a luxury brand, but a label cannot cost £15, personalised or not. It doesn’t launch (nor does the Pomelo candle although there is a huge one for £350 on-line HERE) until 19th Feb. What a shame! I’ve never been disappointed with anything from Jo Loves before.

I really don’t get the personalised candle/perfume/moisturiser thing. Perhaps if you were getting the lid engraved or hand painted – something you could keep & use with your next one maybe. Even then it kinda feels a bit ‘what do you buy the billionaire with everything?’ – perhaps that’s the point? Everyone seems to enjoy pretending like they’re P. Diddy these days….
You know when you just feel really old & out of step…..

I always feel that there might come a time when I actually need my name on things – so until then, I’d rather not!

When there are so many brands doing personalising for free doing limited edition (perfumes) including with the standard ‘Mum’ or ‘with love’ before, it’s a little out there with 15 on top of 55. I could understand it if there is something embroidered/Hand painted/ Engraved or included inside a coffrett of some sort. I also love the pomelo range thanks to your blogs on it I gave it a go 🙂
